Benefits of Yoga

The sterotype of yoga is changing, as all exerciser types are discovering the benefits of yoga. Even sport coaches are realizing the benefits to their players, as yoga strengthens the core, promotes balance and flexibility, prevents injuries, and builds self-awareness and self-confidence.

As yoga participants have known, now all are discovering that yoga can be an essential part of a healthy lifestye. Most Westernized yoga classes focus on learning physical poses. Also, they usually include some form of breathing technique and possibly a meditation technique as well. Some yoga classes are designed purely for relaxation.

We're aware of the importance that friendships, camaraderie and support play in achieving healthier lifestyles so at the Y we offer a variety of group classes that help you care for your mind, body and spirit. There's a group waiting for you at the Y.

Consultations and Personal Training

Because we know that healthy lifestyles are achieved through nurturing mind, body and spirit, well-being and health at the Y includes more than just working out. We provide educational programs to promote healthier decisions, and offer personal training to support physical, intellectual and spiritual strength.

Swim Lessons & Swim Club

The reason the Y is referred to as "America's Favorite Swim Instructor" is because we don't just focus on swimming fundamentals but also on developing self-confidence, making friends and building the whole person – from the inside out.

Aqua Aerobics & Pool Classes

Aquatics amenities and programming offer benefits that are far greater than just physical health. Whether it’s gaining the confidence that comes from learning to swim or building the positive relationships that lead to a healthy mind, participating in aquatics programs at the Y is about building the whole person, from the inside out.

Adult Sports and Recreation

We believe sports; fun and exploring new interests aren’t just for the young. Along with improving health, whenever teamwork is involved, there’s the added benefit of being connected to others.

Open and Lap Swim

We are a place where you can find relief from your everyday challenges, and spend time together with friends and family. During our open recreational or lap swim, you'll have a moment to relax and smile.

Kids love the Family Activities Center

Parents can feel great about leaving their children in the Family Activities Center, while they take care of themselves. We offer programs like cooking, art and craft, music, book club or just leave them in the hands of our fabulous volunteers. Where they can play a little foosball, play board games, color their favorite picture or enjoy their favorite book.

Just for teens, this cycle class will lead exercisers of all levels on a tour with flat roads, hill climbs, and sprints.  Free with membership.  Join us on Wednesdays at 3:45 pm.
