ESYAC Looking For Volunteers

Eagle Soar Youth Activities Center's (ESYAC) Homework Club is resuming on September 5. The organization is in the need of the following volunteers:

4 new drivers, transporting kids from school to Homework Club and then home afterwards.
6 new cooks. We serve a hot meal every time we meet.
8 new tutors.

If you would like to get involved please send via their Facebook page or contact Sheri or Brittany at the Y @ 246-YMCA.

ESYAC is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide at-risk children and their families the support to succeed and the opportunity to believe through programs of tutoring, mentoring, and adventuring. This program makes such a huge impact on the lives of the children we work with, no doubt changing your own life in the process.

There are several motels in Redding where families live and struggle to raise their children. At most of these locations there are no parks or after school programs within walking distance and the children have only the parking lot in which to play. Their lives are affected by substance abuse, transiency and unemployment. A volunteer staff of teachers, college and high school students, and retirees run an after school and summer program in collaboration with community agencies, private individuals, businesses and churches.  The Y is one of these organizations that partners with ESYAC by providing Y memberships, physical activities and skill building, and Saturday lunches.
