Read For the Record

This is a day that promotes the love of reading for young children.  Reading aloud to young children before they start school is the single most important thing you can do to help them get ready to learn to read.

Come join us at the Y on Thursday, October 25 at 10 am and 2 pm in Child Watch Room A to hear a story from a special guest reader with corresponding craft.

Read More to find out why reading is so important at an early age.

Shasta County Read for the Record

October 25, 2018  Child Watch Room A at 10 am

This special event helps us to remember how important it is to read to our kids. Read every day.

Read 10 minutes with your child each day.

Reading 10 to 20 minutes with a child:
1. Builds reading skills.
2. Prepares a child to be successful in school.

You can make a difference in a child's life by reading daily with them.
