Traditional Mentoring

Through our traditional mentoring program, PlusONE matches youth aged 5 to 18 with volunteer mentors who are willing to spend a minimum of 1 hour per week for 1 year with the child. Through the mentoring relationship, mentors help address risk factors including: school performance and grades, pregnancy, self-esteem, crime, violence, suicide, anger, and domestic violence.

Incarcerated Parents Program

PlusONE works in collaboration with Northern Valley Catholic Social Services (NVCSS) and the North State Mentoring Coalition to match children whose family members are incarcerated with a mentor. This program is funded through a federal grant. Children in this program range in age from 4 to 15. The purpose of this program is to provide extra support for the youth in this population since they are at a greater risk of falling into the cycle of criminal behavior.
