NSGT

THANK YOU to all participated in North State Giving Tuesday. The Y is thrilled to share that over $35,000 was raised to support the many life-changing programs benefiting our youth and community! Together we make a difference.

For two weeks preceding Giving Tuesday, the Y hosted Battle For Change. In this in-house version of a Penny War, members, staff and guests turned loose change into a fun way to fund and propel Y programs in our community. The winning department with the most change in their jar was AQUATICS!! This year's battle raised over $1,300 and was added to the grand total for Giving Tuesday. Your change helps make a positive change for all.

END-OF-YEAR GIVING

It is never too late to give. As you consider an end-of-year philanthropic gift, consider giving the gift of hope by donating to the Shasta Family YMCA.

Through your contributions, people of all ages are finding community and a sense of belonging; developing healthy minds, bodies, and spirits; learning life-saving water safety skills; building stronger families; and finding hope in new beginnings.

As you consider your year-end donation, please remember that the Y can also accept a withdrawal from an Individual Retirement Account (IRA). Once you reach 70.5 years of age, the IRA has a formula to determine the Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) that you must withdraw from your retirement account each year, which is taxable as income. If you are fortunate to not need your RMD for living expenses, you can contribute a portion to the Y, and avoid this additional income tax.

If you want to learn more about the positive impact the Y has in our community, please feel free to contact the Shasta Family YMCA Development Team: Julie Schroeder Donor Relations & Development Manager at [email protected] or 530-246-9622 x 126 or Niah Palmer Administrative Development Officer at [email protected] or 530-246-9622 x 114.
