Every year, the Shasta Family YMCA launches our BEST SUMMER EVER campaign to raise funds so every child in our community can experience a summer full of opportunity. Every single dollar goes directly to financial assistance, directly to kids!
For 80 summers, we have shown up for the kids and families of the North State. For some kids, summer means camp adventures, swim lessons, and days filled with friends and laughter. For others, it means empty hours, missed meals, and nowhere safe to go. In Redding, that second reality is closer than most people think.
That's where we step in. Every summer day, we open our doors to kids who need us, providing a safe place to belong, free breakfast and lunch for every child ages 0–18, swim lessons that save lives, and the adventure of Camp McCumber in Shingletown. We give kids a place where they are known, supported, and safe all summer long.
