Shasta Stride

The Shasta Stride program is dedicated to supporting adults (19+ years) with intellectual and developmental disabilities by fostering independence, life skills, and community building through structured activities and support.

Activities include:

  • Daily living skills training
  • Basic reading and math practice
  • Social engagement
  • Fitness and recreational activities

Building Bridges Listening Session

Shasta County residents are invited to join a Building Bridges Listening Session—small, 90-minute conversations where community members can share their hopes, ideas, and aspirations for a thriving Shasta County. Led by trained facilitators with no agenda, these sessions create a safe, open space for honest discussion and connection.  Refreshments provided.

The YMCA Book Club Is Growing!
Did you know the Y hosts an amazing book club that has been going strong for over a year? This vibrant, well-loved group has now reached full capacity — and we’re excited to expand! We are seeking a committed individual to facilitate a second book club. No experience is necessary — current facilitators are happy to guide and support you as you get started.

Holiday Grief Group

The holiday season can be especially difficult for those grieving the loss of loved ones. Join Karen Karnatz for a weekly support group offering comfort, understanding, and connection in a safe, compassionate space. Each week will focus on a specific theme to help guide reflection, healing, and shared support. Together, we’ll honor our memories and find peace through the season.

This program is open to the community, so please share with anyone who may benefit.

Circle Talk

Circle Talk™ is an engaging conversation program designed for older adults. In this 6 week program, participants will meet weekly, guided by Circle Talk™ leader Sharon Brisolara. This program offers a great chance to meet new people, share your life experiences, and hear fascinating stories from others. It's a wonderful opportunity to build new relationships and connect with others. Participation is free, but registration is required, as class size is limited.

Sip, snack, and socialize as you bring your artwork to life. To make the night even sweeter, we’ll have a cocoa bar with all your favorite toppings to enjoy while you paint.
